Unlocking the Secrets of Advanced Lip Aesthetics: Non-Standard Lip Filling
In the recent session of the FAC, we delved deep into a fascinating topic: non-standard lip filling. This particular procedure carries significant importance as it is specifically designed for lips with high contour and limited projection, necessitating a technique that breaks away from standard norms.
Finessing the Art of Non-Standard Lip Filling: The FAC Way
In the realm of advanced aesthetics, every case is unique and demands a tailored approach. One such unique scenario we encountered recently is a patient with a high-contoured lip with limited projection. The intricacies of treating such a case were extensively discussed during the FAC session this week.
It’s important to note that this kind of lip cannot conform to standard filling techniques. This is primarily due to the heightened distal distance, a factor which complicates the procedure, mandating a notably intricate approach. The key aim here is to lessen this projection outward and induce an upward lift of the lip.
As part of the FAC method, detailed examination of the patient’s lip was undertaken initially. The findings revealed that the contour of the lip arrives first, both in the upper and lower regions. Any naive attempt to just contour this would inevitably result in a ‘duckbill’ effect. To avoid this, it was proposed that the filler must be introduced in the wet line of the lip to vocalize the body labial and grow the region which significantly kept from contouring the lip.
What’s worth noting here is that the amount of product introduced must be moderated. Overfilling stages can over-complicate and potentially reverse the positive effects of the procedure.
For this procedure, anaesthesia is absolutely necessary given the sensitivity of the lip region. The pursuit of patient comfort and pain management is integral to the FAC’s approach. During the session, we elaborated upon the technique involving Lidocaine infusion with nerve blocks at the orbital and mental zonal areas.
The technique demonstrated the FAC’s commitment to patient-centric therapy by offering reduced discomfort levels through an effective anaesthetics strategy. It’s a technique that reflects the innovation and expertise present in each of our FAC methodologies.
